Well, 2020 taught us a lot. We are all living a little differently, and we’ve definitely made adjustments in the wedding world! Read on to learn about how to pull off an amazing wedding amidst a worldwide pandemic!
Safety First
Obviously, COVID doesn’t work as a wedding favor. But you know what
does? Masks and hand sanitizers. These favors will be appreciated and well-used. Temperature checks are helpful and may make guests feel more comfortable in general. Finally- this is not the time for having guests cozy-up at tables. Definitely use larger tables and seat them with fewer guests.

Speaking of Guests
If you are dreaming of an enormous guest list, put that dream on
pause. Now is the time to narrow down. Remember- you can get married
now and still celebrate with a big party later when the world is healthier!

Virtual Vows
Let’s face it, some of your invited guests may decline due to health or
travel concerns. Why not live stream your ceremony for those folks? Facebook and Zoom both have secure options to include everyone.
Make it Legal
Ok, we aren’t just talking about your marriage license here. When you’re
choosing vendors, each one should include a COVID Clause in their contract. This should state that any money paid will be transferrable to a new date if COVID interferes with your original date.

Catering Considerations
Gone are the days of guests serving themselves in a buffet
line; however, you don’t need to say “buh-bye” to the buffet completely! Served buffets are a great option. Of course, a plated meal is also a possibility- just make sure you add extra into your catering budget for this. If you’re planning on appetizers, we recommend mini apps served in small cups or shooters. These can be easily and safely picked up by guests. Appetizers could also be passed by servers to help keep everyone healthy!
Temperatures and Tracing
For an extra measure of safety for your older and at-risk guests, consider more advanced monitoring! TN Event Health in partnership with TN Event Designs provides onsite screening, event monitoring, and contact tracing for you and your guests. These are the professionals who gently remind guests to adhere to local protocols so that you don’t have to feel like bridezilla the enforcer.

Nature Calls
Give Mother Nature a hug right now. She’s got your back. Move your entire event outside to take advantage of that fresh air and space to physically distance! If you’re a summer bride, don’t forget those water stations, fans, and a shade element (like a tent) to keep everyone comfortable.

Leave it to the Planner
Wedding planners will make sure all of these elements are in place, AND we can be your COVID police if needed. Like you, we want your event to be memorable for all the RIGHT reasons and to keep you and your guests
as safe and comfortable as possible.

Planning a wedding in a pandemic doesn’t have to be complicated, but it does take thought and careful preparations. We would love to walk alongside you. Pandemics can’t stop love. Our amazing 2020 weddings and couples were perfect examples of this!
